Henrik Blicher Schmidt has a solid background in mechanical engineering. He started his research carrier in 2000 as a PhD student at the Technical University of Denmark - DTU. After finishing his PhD project on "Modelling the thermomechaincal conditions in Friction Stir Welding" he has been working at DTU as an Associate Professor. HBS Engineering was founded in May 2006 as an independent one-man consultanting company in the field of mechanical engineering and product development. This way competances in solving scientific and industrial problems have been obtained. From January 2010 on, there will be full focus on the consultance activity - trying to bring Friction Stir Welding and CAE products to the industry.
