HBS Engineering is always searching for new
projects
and potential partners. We have a policy of using as much open source
software as possible, thereby making knowledge transfer to the company
as smooth as possible.
Commercial FEM software are used under license,
and HBS
Engineering holds commercial licenses for Comsol Multiphysics, Matlab,
Alibre Expert.
Open Source CAD and FEM tools are used on a regular
basis during our research and development
projects. Of special interest can be mentioned FreeFem3D, Elmer and
Salomme-Meca including Code Aster, OpenFlower, Calculix, OpenFOAM,
GMSH, ParaView packages. This enable us to collaborate with costumers
who do not currently hold licenses for any commercial FEM/CAE/CAD
softwares.
We are focusing on simulation and optimization of loaded components and effects of
thermomechanical processing, since these are important in the real world applications.
Our special focus within thermomechanical processing
is on welding simulation (computational welding mechanics) - especially Friction Stir Welding.
The new workshop is placed at Erdalsvej in Glostrup, Denmark. The
workshop is 57 square meters and the building is under renovation. The
workshop will in the near future include a 3-axis CNC milling machine.
This machine is used for Friction Stir Welding as well as 3D CAM
prototyping in either foam or metals.
